MEDIA RELEASE FOR BENALLA ENSIGN:

Sir Edward ‘Weary’ Dunlop Benalla Memorial Committee.

Benalla Rural City Mayor and Committee Chairman, Cr. Scott Upston is pleased to announce the contribution by the committee, in funding specific areas for students in Benalla. For 2019, two submissions were received and the committee was pleased to hand-over a cheque for $1,500 to the Benalla Flexible Learning Centre, to expand the student music program. A grant in 2018 enabled the BFLC to purchase two keyboards for student use. The 2019 grant is to provide additional sound equipment which will extend their capacity to voice and instrument amplification. The Tomorrow Today Foundation received a cheque for $1,100 in support of their student, and parent, orientation tours to Melbourne University facilities. This program allows students to gain an insight into the operation of the Universities, and the accommodation options that might be available, should they wish to extend their education. The Sir Edward ‘Weary’ Dunlop Benalla Memorial Committee, are pleased to be able to assist both organisations with their vitally important support programs for Benalla students.
